Announcement

The game this Sunday, 2 September, against Sufian16's Rich Friends has been cancelled due to their unavailability.

It will be replaced by an internal game at The Cage on the same day at 8pm. The session will proceed once there's confirmation of at least 10 players.

Our next game will thus be the last game of the season, on 9 September.

aku lagi..(suggestions pls..)

Salam all..

GG last Sunday ppl.. Man U/Arsenal fans, hehe kesian T_T. Liverpool/Chelsea fans, no comment. Owls fan (T_T) x 10

Me again, and as always, not really soccer related. Ashrof came up with the idea of a nominal roll to ease data collection etc ala opta, so I drafted one for next season. Hopefully it's user-friendly and helpful for any future match managers. Final version will probably be printed and a copy be brought to each game.

I feel that the list should cover the basic aspects of the game. Suggestions are welcome, although if you all suggest shots on goal/corners etc, feel free to count them yourselves in-game..
BSRI Nominal Roll

And also, the stats so far. (Although incomplete)
BSRI Stats

Like what Nasir said, these numbers mean nothing if we get too carried away and perform poorly in future matches. So, let's play well in our next match. Do it for our good friend Ashrof=)

Numb3rs

Haha.. Salam semua!

Adib has just passed me the full team results/roster list for season 06/07, with games dating back to the 9th of December 2006. He defined the season as Hari Raya onwards, so that means this season is coming to a close (boo..!). Nonetheless, I've crunched the numbers into a sort of table (not yet complete, but almost) and found some interesting stuff..

I'm sure you all nak only the Top Scorer list, but there are more stuff than meets the eye. So, I categorized some interesting facts and pass them off as some sort of award. So, boleh anggap this as our own PFA Awards ;)

Assuming the list given is correct (I've added in info from our last 2 matches as well, taking out the nusms tourney), here it goes........(Drum Roll)

Most Featured Player aka player paling banyak semangat, tak suka "keng"
awarded to: Aidil, Dedi & Hatta.
All 3 have played a total of 17 matches, more than anybody else. IE to say, they played all but 1 match in this grueling season so far.

Top Scorer aka kasut emas, nak glory aje
awarded to: Nasir & Shaiful
Scored 9 goals each. Prolific I might say. They're accountable to almost half of all our goals (40).

Predator aka van nistelrooy award
awarded to: Firdaus & Raihan
They scored less than the 2 top scorers, but they took their chances well. They have an average of a goal a game. Firdaus; 6 in 6 & Raihan; 3 in 3.

Unlucky Award aka "suay"
awarded to: Ahmad
In the 2 games he played, the team lost both.

Match Winner aka kalau main, chance menang mesti tinggi
awarded to: Raihan
Played 3 games, win 2, lose 1. 66% win rate. Team highest.

Mr. Invincible aka superman
awarded to: Hasan
Team never lost whenever he played (4 wins, 3 draws). WOW!

Paling Ganas aka card collector award
awarded to: Hatta & Syarif (..and Ashrof)
On paper Syarif got 2 yellow cards, but I don't count the one given by the ah pek ref for fairness' sake. And who can forget Hatta's moment of madness way back in February? I did. Luckily the list reminded me of it ;) ..& Ashrof. He just reminded me on MSN© that he's on a Yellow. I told him that decision was made by the same ah pek buta ref, tapi dia insist. So I guess he's in. Sheesh=P Now Adil also.. Grr!

Cheeky Award aka "conveniently forgetting to include his goal against his own team" award
awarded to: Adib
I kinda remembered the goal. But I can't find it in the list you pass to me. Weird. Anybody else? Confess leh..

So far these are all that I can think of right now (and finished putting in Excel©). Still finishing up collecting data (I'm left with team goals for & against), plus this season has not ended yet! Jadi, yang lain yang inginkan top scorer sangat, masih boleh catch up. Siape yang ada stats yang tak flattering, can improve on it I.A. =)

Here are the rest of the goal scorers' list.
9 Goals: Nasir, Shaiful
6 Goals: Firdaus
3 Goals: Dedi, Raihan, Rennie
2 Goals: Sufian23, Syarif
1 Goals: Hatta, Khairul, Qairul

That's all folks. Maaf for the broken Melayu. Dah larut malam, malas ah nak cari Kamus Dwibahasa
©.
Slm.

EDIT: These awards can be further improved. IE to say Most Assists, Best Goal, Highest Penalty-Givers etc.. Ashrof has volunteered himself to be the Stats & Info Collection IC for next season=)

Random Matters

slm all

first of all, great game today lads!
the review, i believe, will be coming up shortly...
any volunteers? ;p

niwae, this post is just to raise some random stuff...

1) i suggest its a good idea to have ' managers' for each game... the managers will oversee/delegate admin such as pitch booking, ref, messaging of players etc lah... for eg. today as it was my contact, i oversaw ref, contacting of players, booking of pitch... well, basically, pitch-booking, ppl like hasan dah expert lah (collection pun macam Ah Long, hahah!).. so its really a matter of overseeing to make sure the nitty-gritty details are taken care of..

contacting of players should be quite easy..
and getting refs - adib, shai, nasir and myself can help lah

so the idea is, if the opponent is ur contact, can we make it such that u will manage the organisation of the match and sort out with the oppo as to who books what, and which players are available? can can..?

if so, the next 3 games would be ashrof, sufian16 and hasan respectively lah... ;p

2) i sense that hasan has been having a challenging time collecting money sometimes as people dun have change... so another suggestion is, if ure able to make it on match day, dun forget to carry lots of loose change ie. $2 notes and $1 coins... kesian hasan, he's already doin us a big favour by paying upfront first... ;p

3) after my last experience organizing today's game (dah lama tak organize dah...), can i suggest that everyone tries to reply to the game manager asap so dat no need to scurry for players at last minute lah... (i knw, been guilty of this too!) but yeah, let's help the poor guy out ah...

4) i forgot to bring irshad's cards... in any case, the details are as follows: Sat 1 September, Bencoolen Mosque Multi Purpose Hall (Level 2), 4.00pm - 10.30pm. other parts are in Tamil (yesss). as a formality, i'll pass the cards next week i.A. but here are the details first.

5) 19 Aug will be rennie iskandar's last game... for the next few months. he'll be back after Raya. rennie cites personal reasons ("my manager said bulan Syaaban tak boleh main bola") huhh??? Anyway, watever it is, i'm sure we all wish him all the best. a tussle for the right flank role is set to take place between syarif, khai yusof, zarir, ASHROF!, ridzuan, hatta, myself, azrul, farhan.... eh, hmm, dats a lot of people... hahahaha....

6) kit manager! bila kita nye latest signing nak dapat jersey??

7) sufian16 has raised his concern dat the blog is boring cos his pic is not here... it will get worse once syarif starts to get a little concerned... hahahah (kidding, rep).... our official photographer rennie iskandar is goin on int'l duty. how, how how...?

yep, and so this entry ends... hanging..... ;p

Merdeka!

Assalam guys..
A little something. Made a comment about this vid back in my blog. but just wanna share it with you guys as well. I think it's well-made & very suitable for the occasion.

Btw ESMSCC friends, why not scrap our "win 5 successive games to change jersey" plan to "just get the blue FAS nike jersey instead because it's quite nice" plan?

Anyway (haha, Ellen is soo funny..), the vid..

Disclaimer

The recent game at Nan Hua High School ended up as a 7-a-side vs 9-a-side match after only 7 members of the opposition had turned up.

Reason cited was that they had thought that Nan Hua High was at Tampines when it is actually at Clementi. By 5.30pm, it was reported that their remaining players were rushing to the venue and were on the expressway. Alas, by full-time, they were still nowhere to be seen.

In order to give opportunities for BSRI players to play (we had 16 players), the ref thus decided to play 9 vs. 7.

Caretaker manager-captain Shaiful adopted a multiple-rolling subs strategy not unlike seen of Premiership clubs touring the Far East, one which resulted in failure on most players to settle down into their game proper. As a result, BSRI fell a goal behind.

Nonetheless, BSRI's never-say-die attitude (and the obvious superiority in numbers) began to tell in the dying minutes of the game when loan fullback Q grabbed an equaliser with a cool finish past the opposition keeper after an overlapping through-run.

For more details, do wait till Huzer and Zarir post after sorting out who gave the assist to Q.
