Disclaimer

The recent game at Nan Hua High School ended up as a 7-a-side vs 9-a-side match after only 7 members of the opposition had turned up.

Reason cited was that they had thought that Nan Hua High was at Tampines when it is actually at Clementi. By 5.30pm, it was reported that their remaining players were rushing to the venue and were on the expressway. Alas, by full-time, they were still nowhere to be seen.

In order to give opportunities for BSRI players to play (we had 16 players), the ref thus decided to play 9 vs. 7.

Caretaker manager-captain Shaiful adopted a multiple-rolling subs strategy not unlike seen of Premiership clubs touring the Far East, one which resulted in failure on most players to settle down into their game proper. As a result, BSRI fell a goal behind.

Nonetheless, BSRI's never-say-die attitude (and the obvious superiority in numbers) began to tell in the dying minutes of the game when loan fullback Q grabbed an equaliser with a cool finish past the opposition keeper after an overlapping through-run.

For more details, do wait till Huzer and Zarir post after sorting out who gave the assist to Q.
