From Syarif on 18/12/2006
A virus infection that left striker, Syarif "Theo Rifcott", out of the last__________________________________________
league game refuses to let up, leaving Rifcott having to nurse a bout of flu
after an initial fever subsided. He should be able to be fit again for the
coming game on Saturday and looks set to start on the bench due to the good
scoring records of Bolasepak RI's strikers in his absence.
Syarif held a mini press conference at his villa in the Wood Lands District
and was qouted as saying, " I think it's good we have more than 2 strikers
to depend on delivering the goods for the team, it's always good to have
healthy competition and good to have strikers raring to go. I will have to
take my chances when i get on the field and and it's good to see the team
playing better after our undeserved loss at the start of our campaign." -

Hi all apologies for the late review, but I will do it
nevertheless,
although my review will only be from 15min before half
time onwards.
The day started off well enough, and I met up with Sufian Hanafi
early enough in the day to make it to the match, but after a series
of cock ups we only managed to make it to the pitch at about 1130am,
dont feel guilty anybody, things like this happen anyways.
Upon arrival, the match was delicately poised at 1-1, although I
have no idea up till now how on earth it got that way. One thing was
for sure, the field was in an absolutely deplorable condition, and
because of that the level of play was also very poor on both sides.
Towards the end of the first half, Bolasepak RI FC seemed to be
hanging on a thread as the opponents took shot after shot, only to
be denied by the assured defending of Farhan and Aidil who were
outstanding in defence.
The beginning of the second half saw a major shake up in the team
with almost 3/4 of the team being substituted for fresher legs, but
again, this proved to be of little use due to the conditions of the
field. Despite dominating most of the possession however, BSRI only
managed to carve out a fistful of half chances, before a mistake by
the opponents defenece allowed Shai to instinctively slip in and
score the goal which would give the team a slender lead going into
the last quarter of the game.
However, the lead lasted a mere 5 minutes before the opponents
struck back from a corner which the defence failed to clear. Team
custodian Zarir managed to get a hand to it, but it bounced on the
underside of the bar and in.
This seem to trigger BSRI into action and what followed was what
could only be described as world class play on an out of the world
pitch, a one-two so smooth and fluid, which Dedi missed by meere
centimetres, his shot, looping just over the bar. Moments later,
BSRI threatened again, Firdaus, hitting the bar from a snapshot. At
this point the momentum was with BSRI, and it seemed to be only a
matter of time before the winning goal would be found.
Alas though, the team was denied by the ref's final whistle. 2-2 it
ended, on a dreary and wet sunday afternoon.
In retrospect, I feel that the Briyani MOM should go to Farhan for
his brilliant play throughout both halves, he was an absolute rock
in the defence, and did well considering the CMI conditions on the
pitch.
The ref also deserves a special mention on his ability to ref the
match despite moving in a cirle less than 10m in diameter
throughout. Indeed that bald shiny head of his proved to be still
sharp despite the Todey session the night before.
As the team prepares for their next match, a primetime Saturday
night match at meridien against the spurs fan club, one ponders if
the good, or at least better pitch will allow them to finally
showcase their hard running and technical prowess. Other questions
include:
- Will the team be able to shore up the defence and keep a clean, or
at least cleaner sheet?
- Will the rumored dispute between the "big three" at the club,
kitman Shai, groundsman Hassan and manager Adib be resolved?
(sources noted the tension in the air as they tried to resolve
payment of jerseys)
- Will the Briyani MOM award finally come with some reward?
- Will Hatta be able to start a new worldwide trend of wearing two
different types of boots on his feet at the same time?
And of course
- Will I finally be able to score from a bicycle kick after being
denied the opporutnity just as I was shaping up to do it by the
final whistle?
Watch this space.

Well done people!
After months of negotiations, the deal finally came through. Emeralds
stopper, Hasan Vidicarazzi will be on loan to Concordia FC (based in
Montreal, Canada) w.e.f the 29th of December 2006.
When asked, Emeralds player/manager Adib has this to say:
"We are reluctant to let him go at first but we feel that the
exposure he'll get by playing in Canada will be an invaluable
experience for him individually as well as for the team. We wish him
all the best and we can't wait for him to join us back in May 2007,
the busiest period in our season."
Hasan will be playing for Concordia FC in the Canadian Premier League
till the 15th of May 2007. Concordia FC is hoping that Hasan's
presence in the heart of the defence will boost their chances of
qualifying for the North American Champions League. Concordia FC is
currently lying in the 7th position in the Canadian Premier League.

Good old times when contributors came from various source (all these taken from the yahoogroups inbox). So, are you prepared to step up to the challenge to end this strike, end this boredom, end my mindless sometimes uninformative ramblings?
Here's how;
Our blog id: bsrifc
Our blog pass: rafflesmcc
Revealing this out in the open is pretty much against my online principles, but I'm doing this anyway. I'll let it run for around a month before concealing it again. Feel free to jot them down somewhere safe=)
The state of the blog's intellectual content lies in your fingers.. Thank You.
Cheers.
